A heavy-duty galvanized round bale feeder that suspends the bale above the ground to help cattle waste less hay.
The R6 Hay Saver is designed for cattle operations that want to get more usable feed from each round bale. Its chain basket supports the bale off the ground while cattle eat from the bottom upward, reducing the amount they can pull over the top and scatter outside the feeder.
The 17.5" sheet-metal skirt helps retain loose hay around the feeding area. An all-galvanized frame provides durability for outdoor use, and the feeder can be used with horned cattle.

How the R6 Hay Saver Works
- Suspended chain basket: Holds the round bale above wet or muddy ground.

Used in Our Own Cattle Operation
The feeders shown in the product photos were used in our owner's feedlot. Approximately 50 head were fed with three R6 feeders in a pasture, with round bales supplied about every other day. The ground surrounding the feeders showed how the suspended-bale design and skirt helped keep loose hay from being scattered throughout the feeding area.
